Patent Epilogue

Computing Technology and Artificial Intelligence have come a long way in the processing of sustainable changes across business verticals as well as personal stanzas. A recent culmination of that is an Artificially Intelligent Robotic Manager appearing in the horizon for joining human operators of daily business operations of any organization, private or governmental. A new patent to that effect has been issued by the United States Patent and Trademark Office.

About Patent

Artificially Intelligent Robotic Manager To Manage Human Staff in Workflow Processes

Computing Technology and Artificial Intelligence have come a long way in the processing of sustainable changes across business verticals as well as personal stanzas. A recent culmination in technology has introduced an Intelligent Robotic Manager for administering and supervising concerned human operators involved in Workflow processes of any organization, private or governmental. This unparalleled invention has recently been patented at the Patent Office, USA.

Managerial Robot by definition implies managing human staff. But “Machine Rules Man” concept is not yet perceivable in our human society. However, in routine business operations, the concerned staff engaged in daily Workflow business processes will not see much difference in their activities. Only the human managers who used to administer and supervise the processing jobs will be replaced by an invisible real-time computerized system which is working in the background but still communicating with them electronically as real managers would do by other means. Artificial Intelligence required to be imparted to the AI System for this level of manager is relatively simple and any additional intelligence, if and when required, is enabled to the automated system by providing communication facilities via a Human Interface Gateway Module with the relevant authorities of the organisation electronically during live operation.

This Robotic Manager has been developed based on the “Servomechanism Principle” of Control Engineering, one of the most important theories for automation of mechanical instruments. The principle is based upon generation of feedback by the mechanical system derived from the error signal which is the deviation of the current state from the target for triggering the next corrective movement of the system and this cycle goes on in a closed loop indefinitely until the target is fulfilled. In this non-mechanical automated business system, the generation of feedback to carry out the next Workflow processing is aimed at various business operational goals from within its own dataset which is embedded with intelligence about organization’s operational policy and rules. After completion of the next processing, either by executing an automated computer program or by alerting, monitoring and controlling concerned human operators via the Human Interface Gateway module, then again a feedback is generated for the identification of the next business activity using its intelligence stored within its dataset or by communicating electronically with the designated authorities. This closed loop of the last Workflow business activity, generation of feedback to identify the next business activity and execution of the same is continued until the business goal is fulfilled.

Another plus point is that this single AI System takes full responsibility of managing business operations in all areas of business where generally different human managers are present. For instance, hardly there is any organisation where the business operations for purchasing in the purchase department is handled by the same manager looking after recruitment in the HR department.

Such innovation, although initially sounds a bit weird needs to be encouraged in order to pave the way for a new technologically enriched global value and ethics that will add to the sustainability of our social and business advancement. Gradually “Machine Rules Man” concept will become integral parts of our lives and we can only look forward to more reforms in terms of system changes and their positive impact on life and soiety.

Patent Prologue

Various human operations in a session will now have another resource with integrated business insight, time competencies, and authoritative power to command and control. This paves the way for a new technologically enriched global value and ethics that will add to the sustainability of the entire consumer and business scope. With such invention and innovation gradually becoming integral parts of our lives, one can only look forward to more reforms in terms of system changes and their positive impact on life and society.

About Me

I had a Master’s Degree in Mathematics after graduating in the same discipline. Started my career as a teaching member of the faculty of Mathematics in a college, but soon got fascinated to computing which was in very early stage at that time. Afterwards joined Control Engineering Department of Cambridge University as a Postgraduate where I concentrated in computing using the computer facilities of the department. While at Cambridge a paper was published by me in the International Journal of Control Engineering focusing on mathematical solution for a particular control system with the use of computer algorithm.

My job career had been in the Computer Department later known as Information Technology of various organizations with Headquarters in UK and USA.

Also became a member of the International Federation of Operational Research Society, in short IFORS and submitted a number of papers in various conferences organised by the society in UK and abroad. The advantage of keeping professionally engaged as Scientists in three different disciplines of Operational Research, Computer based Information Technology and Control Engineering, gave me the insight for the theoretical idea of a “Master System” combining ingredients from all three disciplines. The paper about Master System was presented in the IFORS Specialized Conference on Operational Research and Social Sciences held in April, 1989 at Queens’ College, Cambridge, UK. The proceedings of the conference was published by the Plenum Press, New York in a book edited by MC Jackson, P Keys and SA Cropper. My current patent of a computerized system practically implemented for real time operation was inspired by the highly theoretical concept of that idea.
